FAQs

What is physical therapy?

Physical therapy is an effective, hands-on medical approach to relieve acute or chronic pain. We do that by combining manual techniques and specific exercises to regain your function and get you back to doing what matters most.

Will physical therapy benefit me?

Working with you and your doctor, we can discuss your options and help determine if physical therapy will be the right choice for you. Call us today to discuss your current condition or request an appointment now.

And check out our patient testimonials section to hear first-hand accounts of how Kaizen PT has benefited others like you!

I want to schedule an appointment – how do I do that?

Call our office at 206-752-3603! One of our friendly office staff will be happy to help you schedule an appointment at a time that works best for you. Or, request an appointment through our website and someone will be in touch with you within 24 hours.

What should I wear to my sessions?

For your initial appointment, dress comfortably and in clothing that allows your therapist to examine your problem areas. For follow-up appointments, loose-fitting or relaxed clothing that you can easily do simple exercises in is often a good choice.

How long will each of my sessions last?

Your initial appointment is scheduled for 60 minutes and follow-up sessions are usually 40-60 minutes.

How many times will I need to come in before I feel better?

Every patient is different. Your therapist will develop a plan of care that is right for you and specific to your needs. Your plan of care and number of visits will be determined during your first visit and explained to you by our physical therapist.

Will my sessions be covered by insurance?

Yes, in most cases it does. Kaizen Physical Therapy will be happy to assist in contacting your insurance company and determining your coverage based on your individual policy. For more information, call our office at 206-752-3603!

I don’t have insurance – what do I do?

For patients who don’t have insurance, we offer self-pay rates. Initial evaluations are $125 and follow-up visits are $105.

How should I prepare for my initial appointment?

Please have your referral (if you have one) and insurance card ready when you call to schedule. This will allow us to verify your insurance benefits and provide you with an estimate of coverage.

Bring to your first visit:

  • A prescription or referral if you have one.
  • Insurance information (we will need a copy of your insurance card).
  • In the case of an automobile accident or worker’s compensation claim, also bring any case manager or insurance adjuster contact names, phone numbers, and claim number.

Please arrive 15 minutes early to complete any remaining paperwork, so you can maximize your time in your evaluation.

Please wear comfortable clothing that allows your therapist to examine your problem areas.

Do I need a referral to see a physical therapist?

No, you do not need a referral to see a physical therapist. In the State of Washington, we have Direct Access which allows you to see a physical therapist without a referral or prescription. Request an appointment through our website or give us a call at 206-752-3603!

Will I see the same physical therapist every time?

At Kaizen PT, you will receive one-on-one care from the same therapist at every appointment.

No Show/Cancellation Fee = $65

Appointments not cancelled by 1 business day prior to the scheduled appointment will incur a $65 fee.
